Civil time preserves the recorded clock, including historical DST. Mean solar time uses longitude; true solar time also adds a versioned NOAA/Meeus equation of time. Only the Day and Hour clock changes; solar-term and luck-onset instants stay fixed. The 23:00 option changes the Day pillar at the start of Zi hour.
